Stage 14. Grimaldo – Carcaboso (30.2 km)

Information

On today's stage, we need to get our act together again and leave from Grimaldo quite early, as this stage will be long and with a somewhat steep descent through an area full of streams and possible detours until we reach Carcaboso. We will be able to approach the walled town of Galisteo, rich in history that proudly displays it in its tower of La Picota. We will continue until the end of today's stage, founded in the 13th century: Galisteo.

This stage is part of the Silver Route. Would you like to walk it with your accommodation already booked? These organised trips include it: Silver Way from Mérida to Salamanca.

You leave Grimaldo and cross pastures and cork-oak woods to Riolobos, where you will find every service to get your strength back. The path then takes you alongside the Jerte canal and up the Las Monjas stream to Galisteo: you leave its square through the town wall and cross the Jerte by the so-called Roman bridge. A last stretch on the road drops you in Carcaboso.
