Information
We begin this journey from Seville, one of the largest cities in the country, to finish in the town of Guillena. The capital of Andalusia offers us the first steps in this adventure lasting just over a month, passing by the Roman city of Itálica.
This stage is part of the Silver Route. Would you like to walk it with your accommodation already booked? These organised trips include it: Silver Route from Seville to Mérida.
Kilometre zero of the Vía de la Plata. You set off from Seville cathedral, cross the Puerta de Triana and its bridge over the Guadalquivir and leave the city following the river to Santiponce. There the jewel of the day awaits: Itálica, the Roman city where the emperors Trajan and Hadrian were born. Then service tracks through fields to Guillena. In summer, set off early.Photos
