Stage 15. Carcaboso – Aldeanueva del Camino (38.3 km)

Information

Today we face one of the longest stages of the entire Camino de Santiago across all its itineraries, as from the start of the stage we will cover more than 38 kilometers that separate Carcaboso from the town of Aldeanueva del Camino. Indeed, today's stage is the queen of the Silver Way, not only because of its length but also because we will change the monotonous landscapes we carry behind us for much more attractive ones with no significant elevation changes. We will pass through the arch of Cápapa, an unofficial icon of this route, and we will finish the journey in Aldeanueva del Camino.

This stage is part of the Silver Route. Would you like to walk it with your accommodation already booked? These organised trips include it: Silver Way from Mérida to Salamanca.

One of the longest stages on the Vía de la Plata, and one of the prettiest: tracks among cork oaks and pastures where cattle graze, with very little traffic and a lot of silence. The great moment comes halfway, at the foot of the Cáparra arch, the only Roman tetrapylon arch on the peninsula and practically the only place to stock up all day. Then more pastureland to Aldeanueva del Camino.
