Stage 37. Santa Cruz de Rivadulla – Santiago de Compostela (22 km)

The final day! It is worth setting off early to make the most of Santiago. The first kilometres run beneath lush oak and eucalyptus woods to Lestedo, from where you can make a detour to the mythical Pico Sacro, the legendary hill that watches over the entrance to the city. Then, through Susana and O Milladoiro, the path leads you to the Praza do Obradoiro and the final embrace before the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

This section is shared by the three Ways that merge on their way to Santiago: it belongs to the Vía de la Plata, the Sanabrian Way and the Camino de Invierno. If you would rather walk only the final Galician stretch with your accommodation and luggage taken care of, you can do so with the Vía de la Plata from Ourense.

Last day! Set off early to make the most of Santiago. The first kilometres run beneath leafy woodland to Lestedo, where you can detour to the legendary Pico Sacro, with sweeping views over the whole region. The Camino enters the city through the Sar neighbourhood, crosses its Roman bridge and climbs to the old town through the Arch of Mazarelos. Savour every last step until your triumphant arrival at Obradoiro Square. You're in Santiago!
