Stage 25. Benavente – Alija del Infantado (21 km)

We leave Benavente through the Plaza Mayor, leaving the town behind to approach the Alcubilla road, which puts us on our way to Alija del Infantado. We continue until we cross a gas station, where we find a cafeteria where we make our first stop. We leave the road two kilometres further on and take a path that leads us to the abandoned railway tracks, which we cross twice to head towards Villabrázaro, where we come across a bar at the very entrance.

We will continue leaving Villabrázaro behind to go to the road to Morales de Rey, where we will advance until we reach Maire de Castroponce, and here we will see some very interesting cellars-caves.

We will continue to the exit of Maire de Castroponce, which will take us in the direction of the Bridge of La Vizana we go from the province of Zamora to the province of León, and then we cross this bridge over the river Órbigo, to go along a Roman road where the site of La Vizana was located, which disappeared in the 19th century. We go ahead until we reach the road, and from there we go straight to Alija del Infantado.

At this stage we already find several intermediate services where we can stock up for the whole route, and this, together with the low difficulty of the route, makes this stage a little easier to plan. We remind you to be careful when crossing many stretches of road, from the exit of Benavente to the arrival at Alija del Infantado.
