From Salamanca to Cubo de la Tierra del Vino Viajes Camino de Santiago

Today we are facing a rather long stage if we get to the Cubo de la Tierra del Vino, but that we can divide in two if the body asks for it, since we will find the locality of Calzada de Valdunciel right in the middle of the stage to about 15 km from Salamanca. Today we start walking along a gravel path until we reach El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino, in the province of Zamora.

We will start today’s stage leaving the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca in the direction of the Helmántico Stadium, where we will leave on the way to the A-62, to continue along the N-630, road that will accompany us today to El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino. We continue a few kilometres further along a path to Aldeaseca de la Armuña. We will cross Aldeaseca to go to an underpass to cross the A-66, and from here we will take a road to Castellanos de Villiquera.

We leave the town behind to follow a dirt track until we reach Calzada de Valdunciel, the halfway point of the stage, where we can stop for a rest. We will still have 20 kilometres of road ahead of us, so you can spend the night in this town if you want to shorten the stage.

We continue leaving this locality behind and we turn off onto a dirt track that will take us in a northerly direction until we reach the Ribera de Cañedo, where we will cross the river until we cross it, and we will continue until we reach the height of the Topas Prison, governed by the watchtower. We continue along this stretch of asphalt to enter the province of Zamora, which will take us to the N-630, from where we will arrive at El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino.

To consider

This stage is long and the second part of it is quite tedious as there is not a single point where you can stop to refuel from the village of Calzada de Valdunciel onwards, so we recommend that, if you leave from Salamanca, consider the option of spending the night in this locality and reach El Cubo de la Tierra del Vino the next day. The stage will be lighter, and you will be able to finish it with more peace of mind.
