Information

In today’s stage we will reach Torremejía, and for this we will cross a somewhat monotonous landscape of meadows, olive groves and cereal fields from Villafranca de los Barros to the end of the stage, which will make the road a little more tedious. We could have shortened the previous stage to reach Almendralejo, although this is something we do not recommend.

We will leave the town of Villafranca de los Barros from the Plaza de España, which takes us to the hermitage of La Coronada, where we continue until we cross a ring road through which we leave the municipality to take a dirt track to the Camino de El Chaparral. in the direction of Torremejía, where we will cross the stream of Bonhabal.

If what we want is to turn off to Almendralejo, we must do it when we arrive to Vereda de la Mina, which is the best detour to this town. If this is not the case, continue straight on until you reach the EX-212, which you must continue straight on until you cross the railway tracks almost nine kilometres further on, under a tunnel. Once out of the tunnel we enter the town of Torremejía, which is where this stage ends.

To consider

This stage is somewhat monotonous until reaching Torremejía, as it runs along a very tedious path for almost nine kilometers, besides being surrounded by the same landscape that we have seen for several days; to shorten this stage, many pilgrims lengthen the previous one and leave behind Villafranca de los Barros. From Viajes Camino de Santiago we remind you that the solitude of the Camino is one more experience of all that we will live in this adventure.
