Stage 2. San Sebastián – Zarautz (22.2 km)

Information

This stage is an exciting route, in which the views of the coast of San Sebastian and the Cantabrian Sea will not leave us even at the end of the stage in Zarautz. Although there are some steep climbs, such as the one on Mount Igueldo, the effort will be rewarded with the breathtaking views of Zarautz and Getaria that we will have in the final stretch.

You leave San Sebastián heading west, between beaches and hills. You climb Mount Igueldo in zigzags and follow the old Orio road, with the Cantabrian Sea always in the background, amid farmhouses and meadows. You pass through the seafaring town of Orio and, after some magnificent views of Getaria and its “mouse”, arrive in Zarautz, with its very long beach.
