Stage 16. Frómista – Carrión de los Condes (18.8 km)

Information

Today's day is similar to the previous ones. Flat and easy, without unevenness, crossing the extensive and monotonous cereal plains of the region of Tierra de Campos that join Frómista and Carrión de los Condes. We will find, however, some rest areas for pilgrims with fountains and shadows that will give us shelter in the hottest months of the year. The jewel in the crown is right at the end of the stage, Carrión de los Condes.

This stage is part of the French Way. Would you like to walk it with your accommodation already booked? These organised trips include it: French Way from Roncesvalles to Santiago de Compostela and French Way from Burgos to León.

A comfortable, short stage, running almost the whole way alongside the road and the canal. From Frómista you pass through Población de Campos and Revenga —with its coats-of-arms houses where Charles V once slept— to Villalcázar de Sirga, with its spectacular Templar church of Santa María la Blanca. One last flat stretch leaves you in Carrión de los Condes, rich in heritage and services.
