Ledigos is a village in the province of Palencia, very close to the provincial capital, set in the valley of the Arroyo de los Templarios on the French Way, with the feel of a medieval town. Its highlight is the church of Santiago Apóstol, rebuilt in the 17th century over a 13th-century temple, with neoclassical and baroque altarpieces, and the memory of the vanished San Lázaro hospital, marked today by a stone marker beside the road.

The church of Santiago Apostle
In Ledigos is the church of Santiago, the patron saint of the village, which was renovated in the 17th century. It is located at the top of the village. The building was owned by the diocese of Santiago de Compostela since the 13th century. Inside, there is a nave covered with a groin vault and two chapels. The altarpieces are neoclassical and baroque style of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It highlights the crucified and current belfry is a current construction due to the collapse of its original bell tower during the last century.

The hospital of San Lazaro
The hospital has disappeared today, but there is a stone milestone next to the road to Población de Arroyo that indicates its location. This ancient construction came to have its important relevance among the pilgrims. It was demolished in 1752, its stone, wood and nails were used in the construction of the chapel of Nuestra Señora de Vallejera. This hermitage is located a kilometre and a half from the present farmhouse.
