Stage 11. Ferreira – Melide (20 km)

Today will again be dominated by asphalt and gravel. This stage goes from Ferreira to Melide. We will also face a new challenge, climbing the Sierra del Careón, at 710 meters of altitude. Despite this, it is a beautiful stage where you will pass through small villages and green pastures. Once we reach the end of our stage, we will say goodbye to the Primitive Way to join the French Way to Santiago de Compostela.

In spite of this, it is a beautiful stage in which you will cross small villages and green pastures from Ferreira until we reach our end of the stage in Melide, where we will say goodbye to the Primitive Way to link the French Wayto Santiago de Compostela.

You cross the Roman bridge of Ferreira and press on through tracks and hamlets, climbing the Sierra del Careón, which separates Lugo from A Coruña, with gorgeous views. Crossing the Furelos river you enter Melide, where your Camino Primitivo merges with the crowded Camino Francés. Here it's sacrilege not to try pulpo á feira in one of its famous pulperías. The solitude of the early days is over.
