GENERAL BOOKING CONDITIONS

The realization of the reservation of any of our products implies full acceptance by the customer of the general conditions of contract, subject to the following clauses:

– It is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the client to read and understand the general booking conditions prior to their acceptance, as well as all documentation sent by the company for the correct development of the contracted services.

– Viajes Camino de Santiago has a mandatory liability insurance, complying with the current legal regulations established for travel agencies.

– Clients are informed that all the prices of the products of Viajes Camino de Santiago, indicated in the web (www.viajescaminodesantiago.com), as well as in the catalogs, informative brochures or budgets, will be valid except for typographical errors, which can be corrected by the company in writing.

– The contracted services will be specified in detail in the catalog or brochure of each of the different trips or products, as long as the client has not requested a personalized quote. In this case, the contracted services will be fully detailed in the quotation sent, after purchase, by the company to the client.

– In the case of variations in the contracted services subject to availability issues, such as the non-inclusion of the private bathroom service in the category of hostels and pensions; Viajes Camino de Santiago will inform the client of the situation to request his authorization to make the reservation according to the modification of the service indicated. In case of disagreement the company will proceed to the full refund of the total amount of the reservation to the client.

– The contracted accommodations will be arranged according to the availability of accommodation always prioritizing the places closest to the center of each town available at the time of booking. In the event that the lack of availability does not allow it, the client will be assigned an accommodation outside the location of the end of the stage.

– The purchase of a product by the customer, may be made through the purchase link on the website or by requesting a form to the company, through the various existing communication channels.

– Viajes Camino de Santiago reserves the right to reject or cancel the purchase within 5 working days after the contracting of the service, proceeding to refund the full amount received.

– In relation to the above, in the event that the customer purchases a trip with an imminent departure date that prevents the realization of the same, the customer is entitled to a refund of the full amount of the reservation without penalty.

Travel on your own for more than 15 days

– To make effective the reservation of any of the products offered whose duration exceeds 15 days, the customer will have to make a payment in three installments: a deposit of 150€, after two weeks 30% of the total, and upon receipt of the travel documents, the remaining amount will be pending in a third payment, to be made no later than 30 days before the start of the trip.

PAYMENT METHOD

Viajes Camino de Santiago offers its customers the following payment methods: bank transfer, credit card, bizum or Pay-Pal, the latter having a 3% supplement). Regarding the terms and methods of payment of a reservation, the customer must take into account the following clauses:

– To make effective the reservation of any of the products offered, the customer will have to make a deposit of 30%. The remaining amount will be pending to be paid in a second payment.

– The payment of the remaining amount, which would add up to the total amount of the trip, must be paid by the customer no later than 20 calendar days before the contracted start date of the trip. If not, the agency reserves the right to proceed to the cancellation of the reservation, losing the client the amount paid up to the date of the reservation.

– The client must at all times, follow the booking instructions when making the payment of the same, complying with the rules regarding deadlines and nomination of concepts and references, otherwise the agency may not consider the reservation as valid.

– In the event that the agency cannot offer the requested trip for reasons beyond the organization’s control (availability of dates, reservations or other reasons…), Viajes Camino de Santiago may cancel the reservation within 7 working days after receipt of the reservation, and the client will receive a full refund of the reservation deposit paid.

Payment in installments:

To make effective the reservation of any of the products offered, the customer may make an installment payment of 30%. The remaining amount will be pending to be paid in a second payment.

– The payment of the remaining amount, which would add up to the total amount of the trip, must be paid by the customer no later than 20 calendar days before the contracted start date of the trip. If not, the agency reserves the right to proceed to the cancellation of the reservation, losing the client the amount paid up to the date of the reservation. Said payment will be automatically charged to the client’s credit or debit card.

– The client must at all times, follow the booking instructions when making the payment of the same, complying with the rules regarding deadlines and nomination of concepts and references, otherwise the agency may not consider the reservation as valid.

– The client will be able to make an installment payment of his reservation as long as the following requirements are fulfilled.

  • Payment in installments is only possible by credit or debit card (the following methods are excluded; transfer, paypal and bizum).
  • To be eligible for payment in installments, there must be more than 20 calendar days before the start of the trip, otherwise the payment must be made in full.
  • The payment can be divided in 2 parts, 30% at the time of confirming the reservation and the remaining 70% 20 calendar days before the start of the trip. As an exception and due to its nature, some trips can be split with a first payment of 150 € to make the reservation, instead of 30% as the vast majority of them.
  • In the case of opting for the split method, the second payment will be automatically charged from the same card 20 days before the trip.– En el caso de que la agencia no pueda ofrecer el viaje solicitado por motivos ajenos a la propia organización (disponibilidad de fechas, reservas u otros motivos…), Viajes Camino de Santiago podrá cancelar la reserva dentro del plazo de 7 días hábiles después de la recepción de la misma, recibiendo el cliente la devolución total del depósito de la reserva abonado.

MODIFICATION OF THE RESERVATION

In the event that Viajes Camino de Santiago makes changes for various reasons, such as overbooking, lack of availability or others, will be communicated to the customer with maximum notice offering the options of accepting the service according to the notified changes or proceed to change the dates of the reservation at no additional cost. In case of disagreement, the client is offered the possibility to proceed to the cancellation of the reservation, receiving a full refund of the amount paid to the agency.

The client has the right to request modifications in his reservation, understanding by it: changes of dates, holders, contracted services, supplements or other variants; up to a maximum term of 15 calendar days before the beginning of the trip. No changes or modifications are allowed less than 15 days before the trip.

The management of such modifications by the client shall be stipulated as follows:

  • Change of contracted dates: 15% of the total amount of the trip.
  • Modification of room distribution: 15 % of the total amount of the trip.
  • Modification of the contracted itinerary: 15% of the total amount of the trip.
  • Extension of people: It will be done as long as there is availability for it and it will not have any added cost as long as it does not modify other aspects of the trip.

Please note that the consumer will be solely responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of changes to his or her reservation.

CANCELLATION OF THE RESERVATION

All cancellation requests must be notified to Viajes Camino de Santiago through the following email: [email protected]. The following are the cancellation conditions for the different types of trips offered.

Self-employed travel

If for any reason the client decides to cancel the reservation before the beginning of the trip, he/she must take into account the following conditions of penalty and compensation to the agency Viajes Camino de Santiago:

– If the cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the start of the trip, the company will apply to the client a charge of 15% of the total price of the trip.
– If the cancellation occurs between 15 and 30 days prior to the start of the trip, the company will charge the client 50% of the total price of the trip.
– If the cancellation occurs less than 15 days before the start of the trip, the company will charge the client 100% of the total price of the trip.

Viajes Camino de Santiago reserves the right to cancel or reject a reservation within 5 working days of receipt of the same, for logistical reasons or availability, proceeding in this case to the full refund of the amount paid by the customer.

In case the client does not show up for the trip and does not notify the agency, he/she will not be entitled to any refund.

Organized group travel:

If for any reason the client decides to cancel the reservation before the beginning of the trip, he/she must take into account the following conditions of penalty and compensation to the agency Viajes Camino de Santiago.

– If the cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the start of the trip, the company will proceed to the full refund of the amount paid by the customer.
– If the cancellation occurs between 30 and 15 days before the start of the trip, the company will charge the client 50% of the total cost of the trip.
– If the cancellation occurs less than 15 days before the start of the trip, the company will charge the client 100% of the total cost of the trip.
– In case the client does not show up for the trip and does not notify the agency, he/she will not be entitled to any refund.
– In the event that the realization of the trip is subject to a minimum number of participants and this is specified in the characteristics and details of the product, Viajes Camino de Santiago may cancel the trip with a minimum of 30 days prior to the established start date.

In this case, the client may choose to modify the reservation or cancel it, receiving in this case a full refund of the amount paid.

Assignment of the reserve

In the event that the client decides to make a change of ownership, he/she will have to notify it at least 5 working days before the date of the trip. It will be the responsibility of the contracting party to adjust the payments with the substitute person, in such a way that the agency will remain outside of the present economic transaction between the participants.

CANCELLATION INSURANCE

Viajes Camino de Santiago offers its clients the possibility of contracting the following cancellation insurance, which will cover the costs of cancellation for various contingencies, mainly medical, family or work reasons. The insurance company and not the travel agency will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the causes of the cancellation. The contracting of this cancellation insurance is only possible at the time of registration or booking of the trip or within a maximum period of 72 hours after booking. If the client contracts the cancellation insurance and needs to cancel his trip for reasons included in the policy, he may obtain a refund with a maximum limit of 100% of the reservation, with the exception of the amount paid for said insurance, the cost of which will not be refundable.

In spite of having this insurance contracted, once the trip has begun, the suspension, modification, or interruption of the services or voluntary cancellation by the client for personal or any other reason, will not give rise to any reimbursement of the services contracted and not enjoyed.

Please note that Viajes Camino de Santiago will not be responsible for reimbursement if the insurer determines that the reasons for cancellation are not properly justified or are not included in the contracted policy.

No cancellations will be made free of charge for reasons arising from COVID-19.

Due to the cessation of the state of alarm and the pandemic produced by the COVID-19, Viajes Camino de Santiago is subject to the current regulations regarding force majeure causes derived from the COVID-19. That is why all those causes derived from COVID-19 that are not reflected in a medical report relegated to force majeure are invalidated, being understood as such causes, those that prevent the pilgrim from making the trip in a flagrant manner.
