Sarria, gateway to the Way of Saint James, charms with its medieval old town, historic churches and green landscapes perfect to explore on foot.
This stage is part of the French Way.
You leave Samos in the shadow of its Benedictine monastery and follow the Oribio valley, through woods and hamlets, until you rejoin the Camino at Aguiada. Ten gentle kilometres that end in Sarria, the town where most pilgrims seeking the Compostela begin. Walk up the rúa Maior, visit the church of Santa Mariña and enjoy the pilgrim atmosphere.
