• Do I have to carry my luggage during each stage?

  Not if your trip has luggage transport: it is included in group trips, trips with a dog and VIP trips, and on all other trips you can add it as an optional service when booking. We take care of transporting your luggage from stage to stage. You only need to carry what's necessary for walking during each stage, making your journey much more enjoyable.

• When can I know which accommodations I will be staying in?

  We work subject to availability, so we cannot guarantee specific accommodations until the reservation is made. The final list of accommodations will be sent to you once your reservation is completed and managed, as it depends on availability and the number of people. • I need to cancel my reservation.

  You can cancel your trip free of charge up to 15 days before the start date, with no need to give any explanation.

  • 15 days or more in advance → refund of 100 % of the amount paid, with no penalty. The refund is processed within a maximum of 7 days.
  • Less than 15 days → Between 15 and 8 days before: 50 % of the total amount. 7 days or less → 100 % of the total amount.
  • No-show → no right to a refund.

  If you have taken out the Cancellation Insurance, you must inform us regardless of how many days' notice you give, but you have to handle the refund process with the insurer yourself.

  Transfer of the booking: if you cannot travel, you can transfer it to another person at no cost; we only need you to let us know far enough in advance for us to arrange it. In that case, payments are settled directly between clients.

  The client is responsible for any additional cost arising from the cancellation.

• How many stages does the Camino from Baiona have?

  There are 6 stages through Vigo, Redondela, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis and Padrón to Obradoiro Square, through beaches, Albariño vineyards and fishing villages of the Rías Baixas.

• How do you get to Baiona to start the Camino?

  Baiona is about 21 km from Vigo, the nearest city with an airport and train station; from Vigo there are regular buses and taxis to Baiona.

• Does the Camino from Baiona qualify you for the Compostela?

  Yes. The Camino from Baiona covers about 122 km to Santiago, above the minimum of 100 km on foot that the Pilgrim's Office requires to obtain the Compostela.

• What is the first stage of the Camino from Baiona to Vigo like?

  It's 23 km with two faces. The first part is lovely: fine sandy beaches, traditional architecture and historic manor houses (pazos) and stone crosses (cruceiros), such as those at Mallón and Pereiro. Then you follow the Camiño do Souto and the Camiño da Rosiña to Nigrán, and from there almost all the way to Vigo runs alongside the local road, so it's more urban. Take it easy and save some energy for the Calle de las Ostras (Oyster Street).

• How far do you walk by the sea on the Camino from Baiona?

  The first two stages, Baiona to Vigo and Vigo to Arcade, follow the coast, with the Vigo estuary almost always in sight. In Redondela the coastal route joins the central Portuguese Way and the landscape changes: woods, hamlets, the Roman road towards Pontevedra and inland valleys all the way to Santiago. Sea and countryside in a single 122 km trip.

• What to do in the afternoon in Caldas de Reis?

  Caldas de Reis has been a spa town since ancient times, and water is the star here. After the stage from Pontevedra, stroll through the botanical garden and sit on a terrace listening to the river. If you still have energy, follow its water trail, past waterfalls and mills. It's the most relaxed afternoon of your Camino from Baiona.

• What to see in Baiona before starting the Camino?

  Baiona was the first port in Europe to receive news of the discovery of America, when the caravel La Pinta arrived, and you can feel that history all over town. On your arrival afternoon, explore the old town, walk up to the Monterreal fortress and visit the replica of La Pinta. If you still have energy, head to the Virgen de la Roca.
