Stage 5. Cambados – A Illa de Arousa (18 km)

Information

Today we find ourselves facing a short stage in which our steps will take us from Cambados to the beautiful fishing village of Illa de Arousa. The total mileage of the stage includes a visit to the island of Arousa.

This stage is part of the Father Sarmiento Way. Would you like to walk it with your accommodation already booked? These organised trips include it: Route of Father Sarmiento.

A seafaring, thoroughly enjoyable stage. Just outside Cambados you find the tidal mill of A Seca, a rarity in Galicia, now restored and open to visitors. The path hugs the coast to the two-kilometre bridge that takes you over to A Illa de Arousa: the fishing harbour of O Xufre, the Punta Cabalo lighthouse, the Os Cons trail among sea-carved rocks and the Con do Forno viewpoint.
