From Olveiroa to Cee

Information

From Olveiroa, this stage of the Way to Finisterre and Muxía covers 17 kilometers across high, open, and very solitary terrain. At the place called Hospital, where one of the oldest pilgrim hospitals on the route was located, a decision must be made: shortly after, a roundabout separates the branch that descends towards Fisterra from the one that diverts towards Muxía.

On the Fisterra side, you pass by the chapel of Nosa Señora das Neves, from the 18th century, with its fountain and shade, and next to the chapel of San Pedro Mártir, from the 16th century. At the alto do Cruceiro da Armada, the ocean finally appears: Mount Pindo, the ría de Corcubión, and Cape Fisterra in the background. After so many days inland, it is impressive. The descent to Cee is steep and ends at the edge of the ría, with the beaches of A Concha and Gures nearby. The entire epilogue is in the Way to Finisterre and Muxía.

The longest stage of the way to Finisterre, though without any great difficulty: over 30 kilometres of purely rural scenery, through meadows, native woodland and small villages of friendly people. Just before arriving, the descent from Monte Aro rewards you with beautiful views of the A Fervenza reservoir. You finish in Olveiroa, a renovated rural spot famous for its centuries-old hórreos (granaries). (If there is no accommodation, the stage ends earlier, at A Picota.)
