What is a podcast?
The RAE does not include this anglicism, castellanized as podcast, in its dictionary, although it does show it in its "word observatory." It can be defined as "a multimedia broadcast or file, especially audio, conceived primarily to be downloaded and listened to on computers or portable players". In fact, if we analyze the words that compose it, "pod-" refers to the Apple devices where audio is listened to, and "-cast" comes from the English verb "to cast," which means to emit.
For years now, the range of topics we can find in podcasts is very broad. From radio stations and other media, its use is very widespread as a convenient way to reach the audience. The great advantage is that, given its digital format, they are available at any time, and they can even be downloaded and listened to later.

You can listen to podcasts at any time of the day and in any place
Podcasts of the Camino de Santiago
The Camino de Santiago is a topic that generates great interest, and it is also present in radio, television, press, and in podcasts. We can find exclusive podcasts about the Camino de Santiago, and others that simply dedicate specific episodes to discuss the First European Cultural Itinerary. Shall we listen to one?
The Camino People
The Camino People is a website about the Camino de Santiago that provides support, information, and other facilities for pilgrims. It is a kind of forum where passionate pilgrims like you can meet. Created by the pilgrim Jose Mari Ardanaz Ezcurdia, thanks to his project, initiatives of interest for the Jacobean routes are carried out. One example was the event The Door of the Camino: I International Online Pilgrims Meeting, of which we were participants.
But the initiative of The Camino People that interests us is that it aims to give voice to the people, individuals, and pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago. It achieves this through its podcast, which you can find on its website, in the "The People" tab. Notable in their podcasts are their guests, as each episode presents the personal stories of pilgrims who want to share their experiences and Caminos.

The personal stories of pilgrims inspire many podcasts

Additionally, it also pays attention to publications and broadcasts from other media regarding the Jacobean phenomenon, such as that of Javier Sierra in the series Other Worlds.
