Travel Itinerary

You will enjoy a visit to the Old Town of Porto in which you will know the 4 must-see places with our guides: the Cathedral, the Ribeira do Porto, the São Bento Train Station and the Clérigos Tower. Later, you will have free time to make those little souvenirs or enjoy the exceptional views from any of the viewpoints overlooking the Douro that the old part of the city has to offer. You will also have time to taste a delicious “bacalhau” or some “francesinhas” washed down with a good “vinho verde” and some Portuguese custard to top it all off. Get your strength back, because the afternoon is going to be interesting.

After lunch and with your batteries recharged, you will head to the other bank of the Douro, Vilanova de Gaia. More specifically to the Serra do Pilar, where, next to the monastery of the same name, you can enjoy privileged views. But your visit to neighbouring Vilanova doesn’t end here, because at the foot of this viewpoint you can find a multitude of Port wine cellars, the wine that has put the country on the map for all wine lovers. So get ready because it’s time for a tasting while you enjoy the pleasant walk along the banks of the river.

You will taste white wine and red wine in order to introduce you to this style of wine, and immediately afterwards you will have the opportunity to soak up the bohemian atmosphere of the banks of the Douro in Vilanova de Gaia. Shops, bars, restaurants, food and handicraft stalls, musicians, etc. A magical place from where to contemplate how Oporto stands on the other side, from the river to the highest areas captained by its Cathedral.
