With this post we want to give you a smile and bring to your screen the magic of Christmas. We present you the best national destinations and plans to do during this Christmas. We hope that the dreams and wishes of all are fulfilled this year and we can make a clean slate next year 2021. Because we all deserve it.

Christmas plans and destinations

The Christmas lights of Vigo

Vigo’s Christmas lights have become one of the most iconic and emblematic lights in the whole country, and even internationally! Who hasn’t heard about Vigo’s impressive Christmas lights? Their lighting is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the city, which attracts hundreds of people. This year, unfortunately, the situation has not allowed this event to be held with an audience, although everyone was able to follow it in streaming through social networks on December 2nd. We are sure that a walk through the city of Vigo, contemplating its lights and colors will transport us to a world of magic and Christmas happiness.

The Oma Forest

The Oma Forest is one of the most fascinating creations of the renowned Basque artist Agustín Ibarrola. This forest, is part of an immense work of art, or “natural artistic installation”, in which the artist was painting numerous trees that the visitor finds at every step. It is framed within the artistic style of land art. It stands out for its vibrant colors and forms, and the objective is that the visitor who contemplates has a thousand visions of effects and visual games with the work, depending on the perspective from which he or she observes.

The first paintings were made in 1982. The forest is also known as the “painted forest” or Baso Margotua in Basque. It is located in Vizcaya, in the Urbaibai Biosphere Reserve. Walking along its paths you will feel like in a story.

O Cebreiro

This town is one of the classics of the French way. At this time of the year, it is dressed entirely in white and evokes those wonderful sensations of being inside one of its buildings, enjoying the warmth of the fire and a good cup of tea or coffee, while looking out the window as if it were snowing outside. Undoubtedly, O Cebreiro gives us every winter idyllic moments. It is a good place to visit with the family, since the children will enjoy a lot playing with the snow. Have you ever seen its famous snowy pallozas?

Canary Islands

Who doesn’t feel like going to the beach at Christmas? If you have a few days off to enjoy a small vacation what better destination than the warm Canary Islands. Besides being an environment with an incredible natural heritage to visit in each and every one of its islands, you will also have available beach and relaxation plans, and more urban Christmas plans in its main cities. The advantage that this destination has nowadays, is that it is mandatory to take a coronavirus test to be able to access, so you are sure to be in a safe environment.

Other plans

As we often say, the best plans or “paradise” are at home. For these reasons the most significant thing at this time of year is to remember that what matters is the “who” and not the “where”. Who knows, maybe you have a memorable Nativity scene nearby to visit, like the ones in Valencia. Almost certainly, this Christmas they will give us prints as curious and nice as the Valencian Nativity scene. It is a monumental Nativity scene composed of 300 figurines, all with their respective masks, made by the Association of Nativity Makers of Valencia. It will be available for your visit until January 5th. A real addition to the classic Christmas lights of the Nativity scene.

Maybe this curious Nativity scene has given you ideas for Christmas decoration in your homes, right? So you know, let your imagination run wild and make a memorable decoration in your homes. This is the best exercise in laughter therapy possible.

Belén de Navidad

We hope you enjoy this Christmas with your loved ones, whatever plan you choose. We will try to enjoy it as much as possible, always complying with the recommendations and sanitary measures for the good of all. Enjoy the Christmas after-dinner meals of polvorones, turrones and mantecados de Estepa!
