Sarria – Portomarín

DificultadLowTiempo estimado 5h 30′Distancia22,75 Km

You will start your first day as in this French Way from Sarria with your dog, with a first stage characterized by the majesty of its forests, rivers and small rural villages surrounded by pastures. You will walk through a comfortable terrain without many unevennesses, discovering some monuments as the Church of Ferreiros and Barbadelo. You will also find many places to refresh yourself and rest. A few kilometers before reaching the end of the stage you will see in the distance the reservoir of Belesar, an indicator that we are coming to the end of our stage, Portomarín.

Portomarín – Palas de Rei

DificultadLowTiempo estimado 5h 30′Distancia25 Km

In this stage you will combine road and mountain for 25 kilometers. After climbing some slopes, it will be worthwhile making a short detour to visit the Castromaior fort, a Celtic settlement that leaves a record of the past of the Galician community. After passing several villages, where it is advisable to be extremely careful and take your pet tied up as there may be dogs loose, you can visit the monastery and church of Vilar de Donas, declared a National Monument in 1931.

Once in Palas de Rei, where you will have all the services, you only have to worry about resting and discovering the wonders of the town.

And we continue with Palas de Rei! Find out more in this post!

Palas de Rei – Melide

Dificultad LowTiempo estimado 4hDistancia14 Km

You can take advantage that in this stage you will only walk 15 kilometers to sleep a little more and enjoy a relaxed pilgrim breakfast to recharge your strength before heading to Melide. It is a stage of progressive slopes with little difficulty in which you will walk through small villages that evoke past times. You will finish your stage in Melide, capital of the Galician octopus, in any of its many pulperías you will be able to taste this delicacy of the Galician gastronomy. Bon appetit!

Melide – Arzúa

Dificultad MediumTiempo estimado 4hDistancia14 Km

Although it is also a short stage, it requires a little more effort than the previous one as we find more unevenness; but it will be worth it to see you surrounded by lush forests of native trees. The effort will be rewarded when you arrive at Ribadiso de Abaixo, where you will be able to swim with your dog in the river and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the magical environment that accompanies them. Once in Arzúa you will already have all the services to refresh and rest.

One more! Find out more about Arzúa in this post!

Arzúa – Pedrouzo

DificultadLowTiempo estimado 4h 40′Distancia19,2 Km

As it is a relatively short stage and without difficulty, we recommend getting up a little earlier to arrive early for the pilgrim’s mass and take advantage of the day in Santiago de Compostela. When you arrive at Monte do Gozo, you will discover the reason for the name of this place: the tickling, that pleasant sensation that will invade you when you see the towers of the cathedral from afar, closer and closer.

As you descend the city, the blisters and the tiredness will disappear until they disappear completely in the most magical moment of the whole Way: the entrance to the Obradoiro Square accompanied by your pet
