We start our path in O Cebreiro, Galicia. This celtic style village offers us one of the most beautiful landscapes of the entire journey. From O Cebreiro we head towards Hospital da Condesa, crossing the asphalt road on several occasions until you reach the Alto de San Roque and then Alto de O Poio (1335 m), the highest point of the French walk in Galicia. From there we start a slight descent to Fonfria. After Fonfria the descent become stronget until Valle de Oribio where we will find our goal, Triacastela.

Triacastela – Sarria

Dificultad LowTiempo estimado 4hDistancia18 o 25 Km

From Triacastela, there are two possibilities to get to Sarria: Samos or San XiI. If we go to the ritght up to San Xil (18 Km) the road is very well indicated and goes mostly through countryside. If we choose left up to Samos (25 Km) the path follows the provincial road, narrow and very busy. Sometimes might be dangerous because it is not cleary separated from the main road. We will explain both option in an information folder so that you can choose the option that interests you most. It doesnt matter wich one you choose, both of them ends at the same destination, Sarria.

Sarria – Portomarín

Dificultad LowTiempo estimado 5h 30’Distancia22,75 Km

Departure time is up to each pilgrim. The duration of each stage is approximated and may vary depending on the pace of the traveller.

The first part of the stage is characterized by landscapes and nature. A very comfortable path for the pilgrim who will not only find beauty in the landscape but also will have the opportunity to see some monuments such as the Churches of Ferreiros and Barbadelos, or the Fortress of San Nicolás. A few kilometers before reaching the end, we will find the Belesar basin near to Miño River, an indicator that we are already arriving. Finally we will reach Portomarín. End of the stage and arrival at the accommodation.

Portomarín – Palas de Rei

Dificultad LowTiempo estimado 5h 30’Distancia25 Km

La difficoltà è ancora bassa. Troveremo alcune aree pavimentate in contrasto con i paesaggi verdi.

The difficulty of the path remains low. We will find some paved areas in contrast with the green landscapes. During the walk we will have the chance to see the famous cruceiros and also we can contemplate two Monasterys: Vilar de Donas and San Salvador. It is an easy walk until getting to Palas de Rei.

Palas de Rei – Arzúa

Dificultad MediumTiempo estimado 7h 30’Distancia28,8 Km

We are in the province of A Coruña. This stage is characterized by dirt roads, medieval bridges and leafy forest. Difficulty increases due to the distance and the differences in ground level. Once in Melide we have covered half way, from Melide there are only 14 kilometers to reach Arzúa, the end of the stage.

Arzúa – Pedrouzo

Dificultad BajaTiempo estimado 4h30′Distancia19 Km

It is the shorter and easiest stage of the entire tour. Its beauty will make us invest the time saved in stopping to look carefully at every detail. We will find amazing landscape and historical monuments before to arrive at Pedrouzo and find the accommodation.

Pedrouzo – Santiago de Compostela

Dificultad LowTiempo estimado 5hDistancia19 Km

The last and the most exciting of the stages, after 5 hard days walking we will finally arrive to our goal, Santiago de Compostela.

The shortest stage but one of the most exciting. We highly recommend to start walking early in order to arrive to Santiago as soon as possible to enjoy the rest of the day in the city.

Monte Do Gozo its a strategic point, located just 4 km from the Cathedral. Once there we will observe in the distance the towers of the long-awaited Cathedral of Santiago and we will feel a great personal satisfaction. We must let ourselves be guided downhill, the end of our Camino is near. We will arrive at Obradoiro Square, where the Cathedral is located.
