FROM LOGROÑO TO BURGOS (125km)

In this section of the French Way you will travel the 125 km that separate Logroño from Burgos. A simple journey without many unevenness that will take you through the vineyards of La Rioja until you reach the strange Castilian plain. A very varied landscape in which you will get to know small villages of great Jacobean culture, discover traces of dinosaurs, wineries, monasteries and impressive cathedrals.

Arrival in Logroño

Logroño has always been historically considered as a crossroads of the French Way of Saint James, a city that has known how to modernize and preserve its traditional character at the same time.
If you are a wine lover, this city is a perfect starting point for your Camino de Santiago. A walk along the city’s best-known street is a good way to get to know its culture and people. Calle del Laurel is the temple of “chiqueteo”, that is, the tasting of skewers accompanied by a glass of good wine. Among its cultural and artistic heritage, the Concatedral de Santa María la Redonda stands out, where you can see the only painting by Michelangelo in Spain.
