Starting from the premise that “The Way of St. James is an experience that must be lived one day” … we now have an infinite number of ways of doing this. One of them is the Camino de Santiago in an organised group.

While it is true that some people still believe that to be a “good pilgrim” you have to walk the Camino de Santiago from Saint Jean Pied, with your rucksack on your back and staying in public hostels, the reality is quite different today.

In recent years, the Camino de Santiago has opened its doors wide to welcome everyone. It has improved its infrastructure and has extended its range of accommodation and services so that anyone can do it, whatever their condition.

It is true that doing the Way in a group will not give you the same experience as doing it alone, but this does not mean that it will be worse, quite the opposite!

Why you should do the Camino de Santiago in a group?

Doing the Camino de Santiago in a group is a perfect option for all those who do not decide to take the first step. Either because they do not have travelling companions and do not decide to travel alone or because even if they travel with a companion they prefer to join more people and enjoy the advantages that this type of trip offers.

All you have to worry about is enjoying

We take care of the rest. We provide you with buses to reach the starting point of the trip, you will have the best accommodation in each village, backpack transport service, support vehicle at each stage for those who are injured or unable to continue walking. Also we provide you with a credential and a few gifts.

You will be assured of an incredible experience

After many years of organising groups, we can guarantee that it is above all good vibes that count. You will start the journey with strangers and finish it with friends for life.

You will have the support of specialised guides

Our guides know every stage of the Camino de Santiago to the millimetre and will give you all the recommendations so that you have the best of experiences. They will also be available 24 hours a day to solve any problems that may arise.

How to make the Camino de Santiago in a group?

Departure to Sarria

Depending on your place of residence, you will travel either on your own or in the buses we have available, to the point where you will start your adventure. The small town of Sarria in Lugo.

By bus

Those of you who have hired the bus service will be summoned early in the morning to a central location in your city. There our guides will be waiting for you to start your journey. It is a long journey, so we recommend that you take a small cushion with you for a nap during the journey. The bus will stop in different cities to pick up the rest of the group. Around midday we will stop for lunch on the road and arrive in Sarria around 17:00.

On your own

Those who make the journey on their own will be free to arrive at Sarria at the time they wish. Once there, we recommend that you settle into your accommodation and take a stroll through the town, enjoying the pilgrim atmosphere of its streets.

Welcome meeting

When the whole group has arrived in Sarria, we will summon you again in a welcome meeting, around 20:00.  This meeting will serve as the first contact with your companions on the Way. The guides will explain how the journey works, answer any questions you may have and hand out your credentials, luggage transport stickers, T-shirts and the pilgrim’s scallop shell.

The Way

A week full of emotions, learning and improvement awaits you. Every morning we’ll get together for a small meeting before starting the stage and we’ll explain its characteristics and level of difficulty. We will also tell you where the support vehicle will be located in case you cannot continue walking, the bars and restaurants we recommend you stop at and the places of interest you should visit.

Remember that we will walk an average of 20 kilometres a day. We always recommend that you follow your own pace and that you make sure you get to the end of the stage as soon as possible. Enjoying each step is the most important part of this journey.

For this reason, each one of you must have total freedom to do what you want at each moment. This is not a journey where we all go together, you can decide if you want to leave sooner or later, if you want to be with the group or enjoy your moments of solitude. The guides will always be there to help you with anything you need and solve any problems that may arise.

End of stage

The end of the stage is usually reached around midday.  Once in the village you can go to your accommodation, where your suitcase will be waiting for you, take a well-deserved shower and eat something in one of the restaurants we have recommended. Every afternoon our guides will propose a plan or activity, which you can join freely, with the intention of getting to know us better.

Etapas Camino Santiago grupo

Arrival in Santiago de Compostela

The Camino de Santiago in group is a very intense experience, with a great power of transformation for all those who walk it. For a week your fellow travellers, whom you had not known for a few days, will practically become your family. It is a journey of coexistence, reflection and self-discovery. You will spend a lot of time with your own thoughts and you will discover where you are going and where you want to go.

For this reason, the arrival in Santiago is one of the most emotional moments of the Camino de Santiago. Tears of joy at having achieved a challenge and of sadness at having to say goodbye to your companions. Do you remember the camps when we were small? Something similar!
