What to do in the Lagunas de Ruidera?
There are many activities you can develop in the Lagunas de Ruidera. But hiking, cycling and walking are the most popular. Some of the best routes in the area are:
Peñarroya Castle Route
It comprises a 21-kilometre path on flat ground which is ideal for cyclists. The adventure begins in the cemetery of Ruidera and crosses lagoons such as Coladilla, Cueva Morenilla and Cenagosa. The journey culminates when you finally reach the Castle of Peñarroya.
Laguna Blanca Route
It is the preferred route for tourists. It is about 8 kilometers on foot or by bike. Ideal to do it with children or in the company of the whole family. Get to know the spectacular Laguna Blanca and Laguna Conceja.
It will take you to the Cave of Montesinos and Castle of Richofrida. Both have served as inspiration for some poets. After 2 kilometres, you will end up in the Hermitage of San Pedro.
Route Cruz de las Monjas
The journey begins at the Hermitage of San Pedro. After almost 7 kilometers of road, you will find a wooden cross called the Cross of the Nuns. The way is full of surprises, among them the lagoon Tijana and Noguera de San Pedro.

How do I get there?
If you leave from Madrid you will travel a journey of at least 2 hours taking the A-4 road. But if you leave from the city of Albacetes, one hour from the Lagunas de Ruidera, you must take the N-430.
Travelling in your own car is one of the best alternatives. You can also take a bus.
